When trying to decide on an object to create a digital translations I thought that it would be a fun challenge to try to recreate an object with such organic shapes and forms. I always keep a pack of apple sauce with me, and it was perfect for this challenge.

The first step of the process was to create my exploratory sketches of the packet in order to understand the proportions and volume of it. This step was important to figuring out what angle I wanted to depict it.

The next part of the sketching process was to create a line drawing of the packet. After that I began working on a fully rendered version to better understand the shape and depth with light and shadow.

During my sketching process, I brought my line drawing into Illustrator to create a digital translation of the pouch. I then followed the same process of adding depth through shadows and highlights.

The final step was then to create a more simplified version of the packet. I knew that it would be important to keep the same angle of the pouch, but I decided to simplify the overall shape. I then experimented with adding color to the apple to add some extra contrast, as well as adding arrows to demonstrate the twist off cap.
